In the past years The Gambia was seen as a minor in the fashion world. Today the fashion industry in the country has really come of age, as The Gambia can now boast itself of having numerous international acclaimed designers who are mostly self taught.

We say a big THANK YOU for their creativeness and enthusiasm. These designers have strongly put the country in a good stead to compete with other big sisters in any fashion showcase around the globe.

A passion for real African garments has led many well-known and top-rated designers to join the industry and today they are making waves in the fashion scene.

Some are engaged in sewing and selling, making of fabrics such as tie and dye, batik and weaving, traditional African-made items, technical services such as landscaping, interior and external designing, hair dressing and the like.

The various designs they produce are unconventionally unique and their styles are both mixture of vintage and modern.
